It seems that the section on America should include more than just six books, with the last one being Lincols who died almost 150 years ago. Has the decline and fall of America already begun? Surely if that were the case, Mr. Durant would have made every effort to keep this from happening. But now we must all decide how to continue our learning process and what reading we should do after finishing Mr. Durant's list of books. I'm sure that everything we have learned along the way has helped prepare us for this big step we will soon need to take. That step has to be taken, look around you at the world we live in today and see what awaits you if you don't.
Briefly, on the works that I have selected: I am unable to find the 2nd part of "The Rise of the American Civilization" entitled "The Industrial Age" at this time. It seems very odd that the first part would be available but not the second. I have found several more recently published copies that include both parts in one volume but havent found one that I can download, yet. I have found a really nice edition of the complete works of Edgar Allan Poe, but I can't find the first volume, but I am including it, because it is the nicest set of his works I have found. The volume that is missing is his poetry and I have found another that has his poetry and literary essays.
