I want to use this page to put other things that I want to add to the site. I have already started pages for links and quotations, which I think will be important for a site of this kind.
Other things I am thinking about adding are, pages that include additonal writings by the authors that are on the list. I already have around 50 volumes of things that I thought were interesting and downloaded but did not add to the volumes on the list.
I've thought about adding more information on the individual authors and some of the works, and to some of the periods of history that are discussed (ie. The Renaissance), though there is already a lot of good stuff on Wikipedia, which I have used extensively researching the works on the List. Perhaps just adding links to the Wiki articles would be a good start?
I am also considering adding some other lists or types of lists, like books for children, books for girls, books for boys, lists that may be harder to find.
Younger children would not yet be prepared for reading a lot of the books that are on the list. I think it would be good to start them as early as possible,if someone is there to monitor them and make sure that the books are not too difficult and are being understood. There are works here that should be ready by everyone and are very appropriate for children. "Gullivers Travels" comes to mind as a book that young people could read and enjoy. And certainly many could be very good for reading to your children.
Lastly, I am thinking about including some thoughts on the list and on reading and on life in general, that I will come up with from time to time, or maybe not! Time will tell!
