The Renaissance, the rebirth, the reawakening, after centuries of struggling against countless horrors including plagues and invasions, Europe now began to recover and try to regain what had been lost for so many centuries. The period of history that they are leaving behind them is called the "Dark Ages" by some and the "Middle Ages" by others, it was a period when all seemed to be lost and God's wrath had fallen down upon the earth. Of course, beliefs like this helped the church maintain its power and influence for so long, but that all was coming to an end now too. People began to question things, and seek truth and answers, not just believing blindly what they were told to beleive. So much change and so much good was a good thing, but it also had its costs. But without these changes and costs, science and learning would not have evolved into what they are today. We owe a lot to the men and women that brought about these changes and paid those sacrifices. It is through history we know and appreciate them and we must always study history so we can know and appreciate just how far we have come, and how much we can lose if we don't.
